- Follow us through a year on Deep Roots Farm, learning about different ways to earn an income off the land. Discussions on acquiring land, different farming models and steps on starting your business in agriculture.
- Introduction to small scale vegetable farming/gardening $45

- Participants will learn site selection, soil testing, soil building, choosing your garden design, succession planning vegetables, farming tools, irrigation, greenhouse growing, pest control and post harvest techniques.
- Cool Weather Vegetables $45
- March 11, 1pm-4pm
- Food plants that thrive in cooler weather conditions are the first to get seeded and planted in the garden. Learn which vegetables are considered cool weather veggies and how to plan and plant these crops for spring/summer production.
- PowerPoint presentation followed by hands on seeding of different cool weather veggies. Take home a 6 pack of your choice of a cool weather veggie you seeded.
- Heat Loving Vegetables $45
- March.18 1pm-4pm
- In today's uncertain climate heat loving plants may require special attention. Learn how to properly seed veggies that require warmth. Timing is everything to get good results. Become confident in planning and planting the summer/ fall garden for later crops such as tomatoes, peppers, basil, beans, eggplant, squash and corn. PowerPoint presentation followed by hands on seeding of different heat loving veggies.

- Explore the foundation of productive healthy organic food gardens. Create and maintain healthy soil by learning about the soil food web, compost, companion planting, crop rotations, mulching and the vital role of wildlife.
- Winter vegetable $45
- July 15, 10am- 1pm
- Why leave beds empty once earlier crops have been harvested? In this region we can grow over 40 varieties of cold hardy vegetables for harvesting throughout the winter months. Once again it's all about timing. Learn how to plan and seed for fall winter harvests. PowerPoint presentation followed by hands on seeding of different fall/winter veggies. Take home a 6 pack of your choice of a winter veggie you seeded.
- Seed Saving $45
- September 23, 1pm-4:30pm
- There's no better start than from seeds you have saved from your own unique ecosystem. Learn how to preserve plant genetic diversity on a variety of vegetables. Save a small fortune and gain stronger regionally adapted genetics by saving your own seeds. PowerPoint presentation followed by hands on seed cleaning. Learning techniques on how to thresh and winnow different varieties of vegetable seeds.
